Review of ATD-5540 Automotive DMM tester Jan 25, 2011

Basically, this is a simple DMM with some features that make it suited for testing automotive electronics. The unit itself is well made. The dislay is large and easy to see. The leads are of reasonable quality. The instruction manual is a bit terse in information so it could deserve a bit more time explainng use and testing techniques. In summary, it gets the job done. It would be nice to offer or sell a case with the unit to contain all of the pieces and protect the meter while not in use.

The shipment of the product is another story. The package was thrown in a box and shipped via USPS. When I opened the box, the package was open and the leads, acessories were in a tangled mess. It wouldn't have taken too much time to add some bubble wrap to secure the product during transit.
